Adjustment of the limit for passing or failing the test 'Spoken Dutch' delayed

The adjustment of the limit for passing or failing the Test 'Spoken Dutch', within the scope of the Wib (Civic Integration Abroad Act) and the Wi (Civic Integration Act), planned for 1 December 2007, has been temporarily delayed.

At the request of the Second Chamber, the Minister has ordered a further investigation into the new setting of the limit for failing or passing. The preliminary findings of this investigation have shown by now that the earlier conclusions from the TNO-investigation that the limit for passing or failing had been set too flexible, was correct.

At present, all candidates can now take the examination based on the old limit for passing or failing.
During the course of December it is expected to become clear if – and if so, when – the new settings of the Test 'Spoken Dutch' will become valid.
